The Vegan Manifesto

In 2005, Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin came out with a diet book that quickly became a phenomenon. And with a book name like "Skinny Bitch", it is easy to understand why!

"The book advocates a purely vegan diet and even includes sections on factory farming and animal cruelty. In addition to advocating a vegan diet, the authors also say that one should avoid chemical additives like alcohol, caffeine, aspartame and refined sugar. After finishing the manuscript, the authors had Amy Joy Lanou, senior nutrition scientist for the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, vet their work." I find their mantra of "Stop Being a Moron and Start Getting Skinny" hilarious. Well, their tongue-in-cheek manner of advocating healthy eating has expanded to the new "Skinny Bitch Bun in the Oven". Cute gift for a friend too.
